India has marked their first victory in the WC T20 2021 against Afghanistan and has won the game with a huge margin to remain in the tournament. The Afghanistan captain won the toss and chose to field first.
Things were in favor for the Indians as they had a brilliant start and both the openers crushed the Afghanistan bowlers.
KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma started the game with a strong opening partnership of 140 runs. Both openers did justice to the game as Rohit scored 74 and KL scored 69 runs. The Indian team was unbeatable at the end of the game.
Rishabh Pant and Hardik Panya took control thereafter. Rishab scored 27 runs and the latter scored 35 runs. As a result of their terrific performance, India set a target of 211 runs at the end of 20 overs. It is to be noted that, so far this is the highest total a team has set in this 2021 World cup T20.
Afghanistan was losing wickets in the middle during the crucial moments. The Indian bowlers did a great job and India won the game by 66 runs.

After the match, an interesting incident happened during the press conference. While Rohit Sharma entered the room to talk to the reporters, he was found counting them before sitting. The Indian veteran was elated to witness an excessive number of reporters in the T20 World cup. He even said that it is good to see these many reporters in person and not at a zoom meeting.
