10. The referee hassle: This was one of those incidents where the whole team had to face the heat. This issue happened at a time when India was proving its might in the World Class cricket among some of the powerful International cricket teams. As India was playing its second test match against South Africa in 2001, the match referee, Mike Dennis pushed Indian players a lot. Sachin Tendulkar was accused of ball-tampering and Ganguly was charged with an accusation for not controlling his players on the field. Players like Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Deep Dasgupta, and Shiv Sunder Das were also issued a suspension for over-appealing. Among these four, only Sehwag had to serve this since all others were let go due to public anger. Even though the punishment was diluted, team India no longer played gently and was following Ganguly’s footsteps.
